AN ACT to amend the Public Holidays Act (Cap. 14) by amending the May holiday.

(Commencement: February 1990)

ENACTED by the Parliament of Tuvalu-

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 1990.

Amendment of Schedule to Cap. 14

2. The list of public holidays in the Schedule to the Public Holidays Act is amended by deleting the entry "Mainaga Day 10 May" and substituting thereto the following entry:-

"Te Aso o te Tala Lei (Gospel Day) the Monday following the 2nd Sunday in May".

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

This Act amends the Schedule to the Public Holidays Act by re-naming the May holiday from Mainaga Day to Te Aso o te Tala Lei (Gospel Day) and changing its date from 10 May to the Monday following the second Sunday in May.
