GAMING AND LOTTERIES (AMENDMENT) ACT 1991

AN ACT to amend the Gaming and Lotteries Act.

[Commencement: 1st January 1992]

ENACTED by the Parliament of Tuvalu -

Citation and commencement

1. This Act may be cited as the Gaming and Lotteries (Amendment) Act 1991 and shall come into operation on the 1st January 1992.

Amendment of Cap 10

2. The Gaming and Lotteries Act, Cap 10 is amended by:-

(1) inserting after the word "Minister" in section 8(1) the following:

"and upon payment of a fee";

(2) inserting after the word "Minister" in section 9(1) the following:

"and upon payment of a fee";

(3) inserting after section 11 the following section:

"Fees

12. The Minister may by regulation prescribe fees for matters authorised by this Act."

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
(This memorandum is not part of the Act.

This Act amends the Gaming and Lotteries Act, Cap 10 to authorise payment of fees under the Act. The fees are in respect of approval granted by the Minister allowing the holding of small lotteries.

The fees may be prescribed by the Minister by regulation (See section 2(3)).
