AN
ACT to authorise an appropriation of
moneys out of the Consolidated Fund for recurrent expenditures for the service
of the year ending
31st
December,
1998.

by the Parliament of
Tuvalu-
Short
title
1.
This Act may be cited as the 1998 Appropriation Act
1997.
Authorisation
of
expenditures
2.
The Minister may by warrant under his hand, authorise the issue from the
Consolidated Fund for the service of Tuvalu for the financial
year ending

December, 1998 of a sum not exceeding twenty three millions, eighty six
thousands and one hundred and seventy five dollars ($23,086,175),
which sum
shall be appropriated in accordance with the Schedule for the purposes
specified.

EXPLANATORY
MEMORANDUM
(This memorandum is not
part of the Act)
This Act authorises the
appropriation of moneys from the Consolidated Fund of Tuvalu in accordance with
section 165 of the Constitution
of Tuvalu. This appropriation, amounting to not
exceeding twenty three millions, eighty six thousands and one hundred and
seventy
five dollars ($23,086,175) will meet the expenditures by the government
for the financial year ending
31st
December, 1998 as detailed in the National Budget for 1998 as presented to the
Parliament by the Hon Minister of Finance and Economic
Planning.
