AN
ACT to authorise an appropriation of
moneys out of the Consolidated Fund for recurrent expenditures for the service
of the year ending
31 December,
1997.
ENACTED
by the Parliament of
Tuvalu-
Short
title
1.
This Act may be cited as the 1997 Appropriation Act
1997.
Authorisation
of
expenditure
2.
The Minister may, by warrant under his hand, authorise the issue from the
Consolidated Fund, for the service of Tuvalu for the financial
year ending 31
December, 1997 of a sum not exceeding thirteen million ninety three thousands
five hundred and sixty-eight dollars
($13,093,568) which sum shall be
appropriated in accordance with the Schedule for the purposes
specified.

EXPLANATORY
MEMORANDUM
(This memorandum is not
part of the Act)
This Act authorises the
appropriation of moneys from the Consolidated Fund of Tuvalu in accordance with
section 165 of the Constitution
of Tuvalu. This appropriation, amounting to
thirteen million ninety three thousand five hundred and sixty eight dollars
($13,093,568)
will meet the expenditures by the Government in the financial year
ending 31 December, 1997 as detailed in the National Budget for
1997 presented
to the Parliament by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Economic
Planning.
