AN
ACT to authorise a supplementary
appropriation of moneys out of the consolidated fund for recurrent expenditure
to the service of the
year ending 31 December 1990.

ENACTED by the Parliament of Tuvalu -
Short
Title
1.
This Act may be cited as the 1990 Supplementary Appropriation Act
1990.
Authorisation
of Supplementary
Appropriation
2.
The Minister may, by Warrant under his hand, in addition to the sum already
authorised for the service of the Ministry for Finance
and Commerce for the
financial year ending 31 December 1990, authorise the issue from the
Consolidated Fund, for the service of the
Ministry for Finance and Commerce for
that financial year, of a sum not exceeding: Two hundred and thirty two thousand
dollars ($232,000),
and which sum shall be funded by a reduction of $50,000 in
the sum previously appropriated to the Ministry for Works and Communications
and
by utilising the sum of $182,000 from the 1990 Budget Surplus, all of which sums
shall be appropriated in accordance with the
schedule for the purposes specified
there.

1990 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION ACT 1990
EXPLANATORY
MEMORANDUM
(This
memorandum is not part of the Act)
This Act authorises the
supplementary appropriation of moneys from the Consolidated Fund of Tuvalu in
accordance with section 15 subsection
3 of the Public Finance Act as amended by
the Public Finance (Amendment) Act 1989. This supplementary appropriation,
amounting to
$232,000, will be credited to the sums previously appropriated to
the Ministry of Finance and Commerce by deduction from the Ministry
of Works and
Communications and from the 1990 Budget surplus to meet an urgent and unforeseen
need which could not be deferred without
detriment to the public interest,
namely the subsidy towards the marketing and production costs of copra that will
be incurred by
the Tuvalu Copra Traders Cooperative during the year
1990.
