TONGA

TONGA TRUST FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT 1999
No. 14 of 1999.

I assent,

TAUFA'AHAU TUPOU IV,
27th September, 1999

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE TONGA TRUST FUND ACT

[13th September, 1999].

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act maybe cited as the Tonga Trust Fund (Amendment) Act 1999.

(2) The Tonga Trust Fund Act (Cap. 112), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended in the Tongan version only by deleting the words "malu 'i (securities) talasiti 'a Tonga 'i he tipositi fakapangike" and substituted with the words "sekiualeti talasiti pe tipositi fakapangike".

3. Section 6 of the Principal Act is further amended by: -

(i) numbering that provision as subsection (1);

(ii) inserting the following as subsection (2);

"(2) The term 'trustee securities' shall have the same meaning as in the General Loan and Stock Act."

Passed by the Legislative Assembly this 13th day of September, 1999.

1. (1) 'E ui 'a e Lao ni ko e Lao (Fakatonutonu) ki he Pa'anga Talifaki 'a Tonga 1999.

(2) Ko e Lao ki he Pa'anga Talifaki 'a Tonga (Vahe 112), 'i hono fakatonutonu, 'oku ui is 'i he Lao ni ko e Tefito 'i Lao.

2. 'Oku fakatonutonu 'a e kupu 6 'o e Tefito'i Lao 'i he liliu faka-Tonga pe 'aki hono tamate'i 'a e ngaahi fo'i lea "malu'i (securities) talasiti 'a Tonga 'i he tipositi fakapangike" pea fetongi 'aki 'a e ngaahi fo'i lea "sekiualeti talasiti pe tipositi fakapangike".

3. 'Oku to e fakatonutonu 'a e kupu 6 'o e Tefito 'i Lao 'aki hono:-

(i) fakafika 'a e kupu ko is ke kupusi'i (1);

(ii) fakahu ant 'eni ke kupusi'i (2);

"(2) Ko e fo 'i lea "ngaahi sekiualeti" kuo pau ke tatau pe hono 'uhinga mo is 'oku ha 'i he Lao ki he No mo e Sitoka Fakalukufua."
