Interpretation (Amendment) Act 1999

TONGA

INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT) ACT 1999
No. 7 of 1999.

I assent,

TAUFA'AHAU TUPOU IV,
11th August, 1999.

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE INTERPRETATION ACT

[1st July, 1999]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Interpretation (Amendment) Act 1999.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Cap. 1), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. Section 20 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a comma at the end of the first sentence and adding the following words thereto:

"unless otherwise proclaimed by His Majesty in Council".

Passed by the Legislative Assembly this 1st day of July, 1999.

(2) 'Oku ui 'i he Lao ni 'a e Lao ki he ngaahi 'Uhinga'i Lea (Vahe 1), 'i hono fakatonutonu ko e Tefito'i Lao.

2. 'Oku fakatonutonu 'a e Kupu 20 'o e Tefito 'i Lao 'aki hono fakahu ant 'a e fo'i koma 'i he ngata'anga 'o e 'uluaki setesi pea tanaki atu 'a e ngaahi fo'i lea ko 'eni ki ai:

"tukukehe 'oka fanongonongo 'e he 'Ene 'Afio 'i he Fakataha Tokoni ha taimi kehe".

Na'e fakahoko 'e he Fale Alea 'i he 'aho 1 ni 'o Siulai, 1999.
