VANUATU MARITIME AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT)
ACT NO. 2 OF 2004

An Act to amend the Vanuatu Maritime Authority Act No. 29 of 1998.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendments

The Vanuatu Maritime Authority Act No. 29 of 1998 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF THE VANUATU MARITIME AUTHORITY ACT NO 29 OF 1998

1 Subsection 4(4)

Repeal the subsection.

2 Subsection 4(6) and (7)

Repeal the subsections.

3 Subsection 30(6)

Delete “paragraph 4(2)(e)” substitute, “subsection 4(2)”.

4 At the end of section 30

Add

“(7) To avoid doubt, a member of the Authority referred to in subsection 4(2) who was appointed before the commencement of this Act, ceases by force of this subsection to be a member of the Authority if the Minister who appointed the member ceases to be a Minister.”.
