REPUBLIC OF VANUATU

SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY (DISTRICTS) (AMENDMENT) ACT

NO. 22 OF 2000

An Act to amend the Supply of Electricity (Districts) Act [CAP 96] (the "Principal Act").

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:

INSERTION OF NEW SECTION

1. After section 1 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:

"SUPPLY TO NON - CONCESSION AREAS
1A. On and after the commencement of this section, the Government can supply electricity only to an area not covered by a concession agreement entered into under section 1A of the Electricity Supply Act [CAP 65].".

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.
