EXPENDITURE REVIEW AND AUDIT (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 21 OF 2007

An Act to amend the Expenditure Review and Audit Act [CAP 241] and for related purposes.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows:

1 Amendment

The Expenditure Review and Audit Act [CAP 241] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Transitional provisions

(1) The person who occupies the office of the Auditor General immediately before the commencement of this Act is to continue as the Auditor General for a period of 6 months starting on the date on which this Act commences.

(2) To avoid doubt, the position of the Auditor General becomes vacant upon the expiry of the 6 month period referred to in subsection (1).

3 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF THE EXPENDITURE REVIEW
AND AUDIT ACT [CAP 241]

1. After subsection 21(1)

Insert

"(1A) Subject to section 23, the Auditor General holds office for a period of 5 years and may be reappointed."
