AN ACT to amend the Constitution of Tuvalu -

ENACTED by the Parliament of Tuvalu

Short title and commencement

1. This Act may be cited as the Constitution (Amendment) Act 1992 and shall come into effect on such date as the Minister may by notice appoint.

Amendment of Constitution

2. The Constitution of Tuvalu is amended by deleting 'Chief of Police' wherever it occurs in the provisions referred to in the schedule to this Act and substituting in each case 'Commissioner of Police'.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
(This memorandum is not part of the Act)


The purpose of the Act is to amend the Constitution of Tuvalu.

The Constitution is amended by repealing references to 'Chief of Police' in the sections listed in the schedule to the Act and substituting 'Commissioner of Police' (section 2).
