Practice Direction No. 2 of 1994


Taxation of Costs at Magistrates' and Chief Police
Magistrate's Courts


1. In all bills of costs taxed in the Magistrates' Courts and the Chief Police Magistrate's Court the following rates shall be allowable for law practitioners.


Magistrates Courts - one third of the rate allowable in the Supreme Court.


Chief Police Magistrate - two thirds of the rate allowable in the Supreme Court.


The rates in the Supreme Court at the date of this direction are as stated in Practice Direction No. 2 of 1992.


2. Wherever good cause is shown the Magistrate may increase the amount allowable in his discretion and must state the ground for his decision.
