ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.

Defence (Prescribed Offices) Regulation 1975

MADE under the Defence Act 1974.

  1. PRESCRIBED OFFICES FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 67(1)(B) OF THE ACT.

The offices prescribed for the purposes of Section 67(1)(b) of the Act are the offices set out in Schedule 1.

  1. PRESCRIBED OFFICES FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 67(3) OF THE ACT.

The offices prescribed for the purposes of Section 67(3) of the Act are the offices set out in Schedule 2.

SCHEDULE 1 – PRESCRIBED OFFICES – REGULAR FORCE.

Reg., Sec. 1.

Note 1 Section 2 of the Commissioner General of Internal Revenue (Consequential Amendments) Act 1993 (No. 1 of 1993) provides that “Chief Collector of Taxes” and “Comptroller of Customs” shall be read as “Commissioner General”.

Note 2 The Ministerial Personal Staff Act (Chapter 22) was repealed and replaced by the Official Personal Staff Act (Chapter 383).

Chief Justice of Papua New Guinea.

Judge.

Public Solicitor.

Electoral Commissioner.

Clerk of the National Parliament.

Chairman or Member of the Public Services Commission.

Auditor-General.

First Legislative Counsel.

Commissioner General of Internal Revenue.

Commissioner of Police.

Departmental Head.

Head of Statutory Authority or Instrumentality (other than Commander of the Defence Force).

Member of the executive of a political party.

Public Curator.

Member of a Ministerial personal staff under the Official Personal Staff Act 1980.

SCHEDULE 2 – PRESCRIBED OFFICES – RESERVE FORCE.

Reg., Sec. 2.
