EDITOR - HARDCOPY JUDGMENTS

The School of Law is seeking to appoint an Editor of Hard Copy Judgments to work in the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PACLII) managing the research, conversion, editing and quality control of regional judgments from hard copy to electronic formats for the purpose of electronic publication by the Institute.

The appointee will report to the Director of PACLII and be responsible to the Head of the School of Law for:

Applicants must have a degree in law; high level of computer skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and high level of oral and written communication skills.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in legal practice, legal editing and / or indexing; Library qualifications; experience in database creation and management; knowledge of online law reporting systems; and Pacific regional knowledge and experience.

The position is available for a period of 6 months and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: Grade 6 VUV1,832,593 to VUV2,096,593 per annum
