ASSISTANT EDITOR - HARDCOPY JUDGMENTS

PACLII is seeking an Assistant Editor to work in the Hard Copy Judgments section of the Institute processing Pacific Islands judgments for online publication. The appointee will be required to assist the Editor Hard Copy Judgments in conversion of hard copy documents to electronic form, editing and controlling the content of regional legal documents for the purpose of electronic publication by the Institute; undertake legal research concerning documents required for publication; assist in quality control of documents required for publication; use and develop electronic document formats and style sheets; assist with indexing of documents; and undertake any other duties as may be prescribed by Director of PACLII

Applicants must have a degree in law or equivalent; have a high level of general computer skills; have an ability to work independently and as part of a team; and have a high level of oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in legal practice, legal editing and / or indexing; have some library qualifications; knowledge of online reporting systems; and Pacific regional experience and knowledge. The position is available for a period of 6 months and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: Grade 4 VUV1,304,593 to VUV1,568,593 per annum
