An Act to authorise expenditure in excess of sums appropriated from the Niue Assembly Account and to authorise certain excess capital expenditure for the financial year ended 30th June 2000.


BE IT ENACTED by the Niue Assembly in Session and by the authority of the same as follows:


1. Short Title and Application - (1) This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Validation of Unappropriated Expenditure) Act 2000.


(2) This Act shall apply in respect of the financial year ending on the 30th June 2000.


2. Recurrent expenditure authorised - Whereas the Cabinet of Ministers has approved recurrent expenditure during the year ended 30th June 2000 on items specified in the First Schedule to this Act amounting in total to $10,645,690, it is declared that the excess expenditure on the items in the First Schedule hereof amounting to $297,140 (which expenditure has not previously been appropriated by an Appropriation Act) is hereby authorised, and deemed to have always been authorised by the authority of the Niue Assembly.


3. Capital expenditure authorised - Whereas the Cabinet of Ministers has approved expenditure on Capital projects during the year ended 30th June 2000 on items specified in the Second Schedule to this Act amounting in total to $1,604,319 it is declared that the excess expenditure on the items in the Second Schedule hereof amounting to $46,003 (which expenditure has not previously been appropriated by an Appropriation Act) is hereby authorized, and deemed to have always been authorized by the authority of the Niue Assembly.


4. Special Projects expenditure authorised -Whereas the Cabinet of Ministers has approved expenditure on New Projects during the Year ended 30th June 2000 on items specified in the Third Schedule to this Act amounting in total to $2,500,000, it is declared that the excess expenditure on the items in the Third Schedule hereof amounting to $99,267 (which expenditure has not previously been appropriated by an Appropriation Act) is hereby authorised, and deemed to have always been authorised by the authority of the Niue Assembly.


5. Corporations expenditure authorised -Whereas the Cabinet of Ministers has approved expenditure on New Projects during the Year ended 30th June 2000 on items specified in the Fourth Schedule to this Act amounting in total to $5,346,127, it is declared that the excess expenditure on the items in the Fourth Schedule hereof amounting to $523,740 (which expenditure has not previously been appropriated by an Appropriation Act) is hereby authorised, and deemed to have always been authorised by the authority of the Niue Assembly.


This Act is administered by the Treasury Department.
