Native Administration Ordinance 1922 - Administration Order 1938

THE ISLAND OF NAURU


ADMINISTRATION ORDER NO. 2 of 1938


Regulation made under Section 4 of Native Administration Ordinance No. 17/1922


(25) The Government Medical Officer is hereby empowered to cause all natives suspected to be suffering from Tuberculosis or any infectious or contagious disease to be brought before him for medical examination and to detain, isolate, segregate or confine in a place set apart for the purpose all persons found by him to be suffering from Tuberculosis or from any infectious or contagious disease where such detention, isolation, segregation or confinement is certified by him in writing to the Administrator as being necessary to the well being of the native population.


Any native who resists or obstructs the order of the Government Medical Officer, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding Five pounds or imprisonment with hard labour for a period not exceeding six months, or both.
