IMPORT DUTIES (AMENDMENT) ACT 2011
AN ACT
to amend Schedule of the Import Duties and License Act 1989, by increasing import duties for spirit (Vodka and Gin) and reduce the import duties for beer.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE NITIJELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS:
Section 1. Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Import Duties (Amendment) Act, 2011.
Section 2. Amendments
(1) Paragraph 5(11) and (13) of the Schedule to the Import Duties Act is amended as follows:
| 11. Beer ........................................ | $0. 35 cents per can or 12 oz unit |
| 13. Spirits (Vodka and Gin) ............ | $15.00 per gallon |
Section 3. Effective Date
This Act shall take effect on the date of certification in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedures of the Nitijela.
