AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE CERTAIN SUMS TO THE RECURRENT SERVICE OF THE YEAR ENDING ON 31 DECEMBER 1993

MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti.

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act 1992 and shall come into operation on 1 January 1993.


Authorisation of issue of $28,660,384 from the Consolidated Fund

2. The issue from the Consolidated Fund is hereby authorised of the sum of Twenty Eight Million, Six Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty Four Dollars ($28,660,384) to be applied to the recurrent service of the year ending 31 December 1993.

Appropriation

3. The sums specified in section 2 shall be appropriated for the purposes of Heads of Expenditure specified in Column 1 of the Schedule annexed to this Act in the sums respectively set forth in relation thereto in Column 2 of the Schedule.

Transfer of Functions

4. Where after the commencement of this Act and before 1st January 1994 a function is transferred from one Ministry to another the authority conferred by sections 2 and 3 to issue and apply monies out of the Consolidated Fund extends to the issue and application of monies in respect of that function by that other Ministry.

ACT 1992

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

1. This Act seeks to charge upon the Consolidated Fund the sums required for the recurrent expenditure for the year ending on 31 December 1993.

2. The Schedule to the Act specified the heads of expenditure for which the sum, in the aggregate, is appropriated, and in the case of each one of the heads of expenditure, the particular amount, out of the total, appropriated to it.

3. The heads of expenditure specified in the Schedule are those which are contained in the Estimates for the financial year ending on 31 December 1993.

4. This Act is presented in accordance with the provisions of section 109(1) and (2) of the Constitution.
