Tax Free Zones (Budget Amendment) Decree 2001

TAX FREE ZONES (BUDGET AMENDMENT) DECREE 2001
(DECREE NO. 6 OF 2001)

(Interim Civilian Government Decree No. 6)

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon the Interim Civilian Government by section 4 of the Interim Civilian Government (Transfer of Executive Authority) Decree No. 19 of 2000, I, Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, President of the Republic of Fiji, acting on the advice of Cabinet, hereby make this Decree to require that no Tax Free Zones may be declared after 31st December 2000 and that no Tax Free Zone operating licence may be applied for or granted after that date-

Short title, etc

1.-(1) This Decree may be cited as the Tax Free Zones (Budget Amendment) Decree 2001 and is deemed to have come into force on 1st January 2001.

(2) In this Decree "principal Decree" means the Tax Free Zones Decree 1991 (Decree No. 57 of 1991).

Declaration, variation of tax free zone and provision of customs facilities

2. Section 4(1) of the principal Decree is amended by deleting "at anytime" and substituting "on or before 31st December 2000".

Application for a licence in tax free zones

3. Section 6(1) of the principal Decree is amended by inserting "on or before 31st December 2000" after "Minister".

Grant of tax free zone licence, criteria for grant of licence and diversion of manufactured goods for sales in Fiji

4. Section 7(1) of the principal Decree is amended by inserting "on or before 31st December 2000," after "Minister of Finance, may".
