AN ACT
TO AMEND THE STAMP DUTIES ACT

[1 January 1996]

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji-

Short title and commencement

1. - (1) This Act may be cited as the Stamp Duties (Amendment) Act, 1996.

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January, 1996.

Interpretation

2. The Stamp Duties Act is, in this Act, referred to as "the Act".

Schedule amended

3. "Part II" of the Schedule to the Act is amended by adding the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph "(22)":-

"(23) Every issue, transfer, exchange, sale, or purchase, of any marketable security quoted on and traded through the Suva Stock Exchange."

Passed by the House of Representatives this fifteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Six.

Passed by the Senate this Twenty-Eighth day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Six.
