Fiji Judicature (Amendment) Decree 1987

THE REPUBLIC OF FIJI

FIJI JUDICATURE (AMENDMENT) DECREE

DECREE NO. 11

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as Commander and Head of the Fiji Military Government of the Republic of Fiji, I hereby make the following decree:

1. This decree may be cited as the Fiji Judicature (Amendment) Decree 1987.

2. The Fiji Judicature Decree 1987 (the Decree) shall be amended as follows:

(a) Delete section 5 and insert in lieu thereof the following:

“5. The Judicial Advisory Committee shall be empowered to make appointments to the following offices:

Central Agricultural Tribunal

Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court

Assistant Registrar of the Supreme Court

Solicitor-General

Deputy Solicitor-General

Crown Solicitor

First Parliamentary Counsel

Second Parliamentary Counsel

Chief Magistrate

Resident Magistrate

Second Class Magistrate

Third Class Magistrate

Chief Legal Officer

Senior Legal Draftsman

Principal Legal Officer

Senior Legal Officer

Legal Officer

Registrar-General

Registrar of Titles

Public Legal Adviser

Assistant Public Trustee

Senior Assistant Registrar

Estates Officer

Senior Court Officer

Court Officer

Court Registrar”

3. This Decree shall be deemed to have been made on the 4th October, 1987.
