DECREE NO. 47

EXCISE (AMENDMENT) DECREE 1991

A DECREE TO AMEND THE EXCISE ACT, 1986

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Fiji and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree-

Short title, etc.

1. (1) This Decree may be cited as the Excise (Amendment) Decree, 1991.

(2) The Excise Act, 1986 is in this Decree referred to as the "Principal Act".

Part 1 of Schedule 2 amended

2. Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Act is amended by-

(a) substituting the expression "48.42 cents" for the expression "46.42 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.01;

(b) Substituting the expression "34.97 cents" for the expression "32.97 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.02;

(c) substituting the expression "48.42 cents" for the expression "46.42 cents" and the expression "34.97 cents" for the expression "32.97 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.03;

(d) substituting the expression "$46.58" for the expression "$43.74" in column 3 of Item No. 2.01;

(e) substituting the expression "$23.23" for the expression "$21.81" in column 3 of the Item No. 2.02;

(f) substituting the expression "$46.58" for the expression "$43.74" and the expression "$23.23" for the expression $21.81" in column 3 of the Item No. 2.03;

(g) substituting the expression "78 cents" for the expression "76 cents" in column 3 of the Item No. 3.00;

(h) substituting the expression "$24.50" for the expression "$22.75" in column 3 of Item No. 4.01;

(i) substituting the expression "$14.00" for the expression "$13.00" in column 3 of Item No. 4.03; and

(j) substituting the expression "$24.50" for the expression "$22.75" in column 3 of Item No. 4.04".

Commencement

3. This Decree shall come into force on the 26th day of November, 1991.
