EXCISE (AMENDMENT) DECREE 1989

A DECREE TO AMEND THE EXCISE ACT, 1986

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Fiji and acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree-

Short title, etc.

1.-(1) This Decree may be cited as the Excise (Amendment) Decree, 1989.

(2) The Excise Act, 1986 is in this Decree referred to as the "Principal Act".

Part 1 of Schedule 2 amended

2.-(1) Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Act is amended by-

(a) substituting the expression "4 cents a roll" for the expression "6 cents a roll" in Column 3 of Item No. 17.00;

(b) substituting the expression "10 cents a kilogram" for the expression "75 cents a kilogram" in Column 3 of Item No. 22.00; and

(c) substituting the expression "25 cents a kilogram" for the expression "45 cents a kilogram" in Column 3 of Item No. 57.00.

3.-This Decree shall come into effect on the 8th day of August, 1989.
