Excise Act (Amendment) Decree 2000

EXCISE ACT (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2000

(Interim Civilian Government Decree No. 34)

IN exercise of the powers vested in the Interim Civilian Government by section 4 of the Interim Civilian Government (Transfer Executive Authority) Decree No. 19 of 2000, I, Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, President of Republic of Fiji and acting on the advice of the Cabinet, make this Decree to amend the Excise Act 1986-

Short title and commencement

1. This Decree may be cited as the Excise Act (Amendment) Decree 2000 and comes into force on 22nd November 2000.

Part I of Schedule 2 amendment

2. Part I of Schedule 2 of the Excise Act 1986 is amended by-

(a) substituting the expression "108 cents" for the expression "106.28 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.01;

(b) substituting the expression "72 cents" for the expression "68.97 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.02;

(c) substituting the expression "108 cents" for the expression "106.28 cents" and the expression "72 cents" for the expression "68.97 cents" in column 3 of Item. No. 1.03;

(d) substituting the expression "$62.24" for the expression "$56.58" in column 3 of Item No. 2.01;

(e) substituting the expression "$36.55" for the expression "$33.23" in column 3 of Item No.2.02;

(f) substituting the expression "$62.24" for the expression "$56.58" and the expression"$36.55" for the expression "$33.23" in column 3 of Item No. 2.03;

(g) substituting the expression "$1.26" for the expression "$1.21 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 3.00;

(h) substituting the expression "$41.02" for the expression "$39.27" in column 3 of Item No. 4.01;

(i) substituting the expression "$23.43" for the expression "$22.43" in column 3 of Item No. 4.03; and

(j) substituting the expression "$41.02" for the expression "$39.27" in column 3 of Item No. 4.04.".
