DECREE NO. 46
CUSTOMS TARIFF (AMENDMENT) DECREE 1988
A DECREE TO AMEND THE CUSTOMS TARIFF ACT, 1986
IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Fiji and acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree-
Short title
1.-(1) This Decree may be cited as the Customs Tariff (Amendment) Decree, 1988.
(2) The Customs Tariff Act, 1986 is in this Decree referred to as "the principal Act".
Part 1 of Schedule 2 amended
2.-(1) Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the principal Act is amended-
(a) by inserting the following item for Tariff Item No. 22.01/02.01 with the following-
| "22.01/02.01 | Aerated waters, whether or not sweetened or flavoured | 90% | 7.5% | Free"; |
(b) by substituting the following heading and items for Tariff Item No. 32.09.00.00-
"32.09 Varnishes and lacquers; distempers; prepared water pigments of the kind used for finishing leather; paints and enamels; pigments dispersed in linseed oil, white spirit, spirits of turpentine or other media of a kind used in the manufacture of paints or enamels; stamping foils; dyes or other colouring matter in forms or packings of a kind sold by retail, solutions as defined by Note 4 to this Chapter;
32.09.00.01 Tinters, colourants, shaders and the like used in the manufacture of paints and enamels............................................. 35% 7.5% Free
32.09.00.09 Other ............................................... 90% 7.5% Free"; and
(c) substituting the expression "25% Fiscal" for the expression "45% Fiscal" in Additional Note 9 to Section XI.
(2) Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the principal Act is further amended as set out in the Schedule to this Decree.
Part 2 of Schedule 2 amended
3. Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the principal Act is amended by inserting the following Code before Code No. 102-
| "101 | Breakfast foods (such headings as the Comptroller may approve) | 10% | 5% | Free". |
Part 3 of Schedule 2 amended
4. Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the principal Act is amended by substituting the expression "20%" for the expression "50%" in column (4) of Code No. 236.
Commencement
5. This Decree shall come into effect on the 13th day of December, 1988.
