DECREE NO. 30

COURT OF APPEAL ACT (AMENDMENT) DECREE 1990

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Fiji and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree:

Short title

1. This Decree may be cited as the Court of Appeal Act (Amendment) Decree 1990.

Interpretation

2. In this Decree unless the context otherwise requires the "Principal Act" means the Court of Appeal Act (Cap. 12).

New Section 4A

3. The principal Act is amended by inserting after section 4 the fo1lowing:

"Appointment of President

4A The President of the Court of Appeal shall be appointed by the President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Fiji after consultation with the Judicial and Legal Services Commission".
