VANUATU FINANCIAL SERVICES COMMISSION AMENDMENT ACT NO.14 OF 2001

An act to amend the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission Act No. 35 of 1993

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendments

The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission Act No. 35 of 1993 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the date on which it is published in the Gazette.

AMENDMENTS OF THE VANUATU FINANCIAL SERVICES COMMISSION ACT NO. 35 OF 1993

1. Paragraph 3(1)(c)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute

“(c) a person with legal qualifications or experience appointed by the Minister after consultation with the Commissioner.”.

Explanatory Note

The amendments remove the Attorney General as a member of the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission. He is replaced by a person with legal qualifications or experience appointed by the Minister after consultation with the Commissioner.
