VANUATU COMMODITIES MARKETING BOARD (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 15 OF 2005

An Act to amend the Vanuatu Commodities and Marketing Board Act [CAP 133].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows:

1 Amendment

The Vanuatu Commodities and Marketing Board Act [CAP 133] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

AMENDMENTS OF THE VANUATU COMMODITIES AND MARKETING BOARD ACT [CAP 133]

1 Section 2

After “export”, insert “or import”.

2 Section 2 (heading)

After “EXPORT” insert “AND IMPORT”.

3 After section 2

Insert

“2A IMPORTATION OF PRESCRIBED COMMODITIES

A prescribed commodity may only be imported if:

(a) the prescribed commodity is to be used for processing and manufacturing purposes only; and

(b) the prescribed commodity is required to substitute a shortage of supply by the local producers.”

4 Paragraph 6(1)(a)
After “export”, insert “or import”.

5 Paragraph 6(1)(b)

Delete “or export the same”, substitute “, export or import the same”.

6 Paragraph 7(e)

Delete “and export”, substitute “, export and import”.

7 Section 7A

Delete “or export”, substitute “, export or import”.
