SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION (2000) ACT

NO. 44 2000

An Act to provide for the appropriation of additional funds for the services of the Government for the year ending on 31 December 2000, and for related purposes.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows -

1 Appropriation of amounts under section 39 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998

The additional amount of VT 50,000,000 issued from the Public Fund under section 39 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998 for the year ending on 31 December 2000 is appropriated in accordance with Schedule 1.

2 Amounts carried over and allocated under section 37 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998

Schedule 2 sets out the allocation of amounts totalling VT 226,997,000 carried forward from the year ending on 31 December 1999 to the year ending on 31 December 2000 in accordance with section 37 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998.

2A Appropriation of additional amounts

The additional amount of VT 520,000,000 is to be issued from the public funds of the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu for the year ending on 31 December 2000 and is appropriated as set out in Schedule 3.

3 Commencement

This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 January 2000.

ACT NO. 44 2000

Explanatory Note

The purpose of this Bill is to obtain the approval and authorisation of Parliament for the appropriation of additional funds of VT 50,000,000 for the financial year ending on 31 December 2000 (see Schedule 1 of the Bill). The Bill also provides for the carrying over of VT 226, 997,000 from 1999 to 2000 (see Schedule 2 of the Bill).

This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 January 2000.
