(AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 12 OF 2001

An act to amend the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1. Amendments
   

The Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2. Commencement
   

This Act commences on the date on which it is published in the Gazette.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBIC FINANCE AND ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT ACT
NO. 6 OF 1998

1. Subsection 1(2)
   

After “this Act” (first occurring), insert “in whole or in part”.

2. Subsection 1(2)
   

After “this Act” (third occurring ), insert “in whole or in part”.

Explanatory Note

Item 1 of the Schedule to this Bill amends subsection 1(2) of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998 (“the Principal Act”) to provide that the Minister can apply the Principal Act in whole or in part to a government agency.

Item 2 of the Schedule to this Bill amends subsection 1(2) of the Principal Act to provide that the Minister can exclude a government agency from the application of the Principal Act in whole or in part.
