MARITIME (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 13 OF

An Act to amend the Maritime Act [CAP. 131].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT TO SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 131

1. The Maritime Act [CAP. 131] in this Act referred to as the "principal Act" is amended in Section 1 by deleting the definition of "Minister" and substituting the following definition-

"Minister" means the Minister responsible for Maritime Affairs and the International Shipping Registry"

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 18

2. Section 18 of the principal Act is amended-

(a) in subsection (2) by deleting the words "Minister may in exceptional case" and substituting the words "Commissioner may if he feels it is justified after consultation with the Minister".

(b) in subsection (3) by deleting "0.25 dollars".

COMMENCEMENT

This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
