THE
LABOUR (WORK PERMITS) (AMENDMENT)
ACT NO. 9 OF 2004

An Act to amend the Labour (Work Permits) Act [CAP 187].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows -

1. Amendment

The Labour (Work Permits) Act [CAP 187] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2. Commencement

This Act commences on 1 January 2005.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF THE LABOUR (WORK PERMITS)
ACT [CAP 187]

1. Subsection 3(1)

Delete “VT 100,000”, substitute “VT 200,000”.

2. Subsection 3(1A)

Delete “VT 100,000”, substitute “VT 200,000”.

3. Subsection 3(5)

Repeal the subsection

4. Paragraph 5H(1)(a)

Delete “payable under subsection 3(3)”, substitute “of VT 40,000”.

5. Paragraph 5J(b)

Delete “ . ” Substitute “ ; and ”.

6. After paragraph 5J(b)

Insert

“(c) the employee pays an exemption permit tax of VT 10,000”.
