IMMIGRATION (AMENDMENT) ACT NO. 36 OF 2014

An Act to amend the Immigration Act No. 17 of 2010.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendment
The Immigration Act No. 17 of 2010 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE
AMENDMENTS OF THE IMMIGRATION ACT NO. 17 OF 2010

1 After paragraph 53A(1)(a)
Insert

“(aa) is participating or involving himself or herself in political activities that will cause political instability including attending a political party meeting or political group meeting, financing a political party or financing activities ; or”

2 Subsection 60(3)
Delete “a financial institution approved by the Director”, substitute “the Vanuatu Government bonds account established in accordance with the provisions of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act [CAP 244]”
