EXPORT DUTIES (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 17 OF 1992

An act to amend the Export Duties Act [CAP 31].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE 1 TO CHAPTER 31

1. Schedule 1 to the Export Duties Act [CAP 31] as amended is further amended -

(a) by deleting item (13) in the column headed 'Goods and Products' and substituting the following item:-

"(13) Miscellaneous products specified below:

a) - Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semiprecious stones, precious metal, metal clad with precious metal, and articles thereof, imitation jewellery.

b) - Ice-cream and other edible ice, whether or not containing cocoa.

c) - Soap, organic surface active agents and washing preparations.

d) - Squash pumpkins.

e) - Cabbages.

f) - Taro."

(b) by deleting the figure '5%' corresponding to item (13) in the column headed 'Ad Valorem Duty Rate', and substituting the figure "3%". Corresponding to paragraphs a), b), c), d), e) and f) of item 13.

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1993.
