THE COURTS REGULATION (AMENDMENT) ACT
No. 15 OF 1989

An Act to amend section 29 of the Courts Regulation No. 30 of 1930.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

REPLACEMENT OF SECTION 29 OF REGULATION No. 30 OF 1980

1. The Courts Regulation No. 30 of 1980, as amended from time to time, is further amended by repealing section 29 and substituting the following new section therefor:

"CONSTITUTION OF THE SUPREME COURT

29. (1) Save as otherwise provided by any other law every proceeding in the Supreme Court shall be heard and disposed of before a Judge of the Supreme Court sitting alone.

(2) In exercise of its jurisdiction under Articles 6, 16:4, 37:3, 51 and 52 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court shall be constituted by one Judge of the Supreme Court sitting alone."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.
