An Act to amend the Criminal Procedure Code Act No. 21 of 1981.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT TO SECTION 209 OF ACT NO. 21 OF 1981

1. Section 209 of the Criminal Procedure Code Act No. 21 of 1981 is amended by the repeal of subsection (1) of that section and the substitution therefor of the following subsection:

"(1) After the entering of an appeal by a person entitled to appeal, the trial court which convicted or sentenced such person may order that he be released from custody on bail subject to such conditions as the court may consider fit."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
