THE BUSINESS LICENCE (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 1 OF 2006

An Act to amend the Business Licence Act No.19 of 1998.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendment


The Business Licence Act No. 19 of 1998 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement


This Act is taken to have commenced on 01 January 2006.

AMENDMENTS OF THE BUSINESS LICENCE ACT NO. 19 OF 1998

1 Item 1(g) of Business Licence (Amendment) Act No. 5 of 2004


Repeal the item.

2 Schedule 1


(a) Insert "plus for each non-citizen principal or partner engaged in the business" under each of the following classes and categories of businesses in schedule 1 as set out in the Table below.

category D 5. Open-Air Vendors, Mobile Shops and Door -to-door Sales

category E. Transportation, Storage Facilities and Tourism Services

category F 3.(d) Insurance Brokers

category F 4. Other Professional and Business Services

category G 1 Medical and Dental Practitioners, Optometrists, Chiropractors,
Osteropaths, Nursing Services and Veterinary Services

category G 2. Personal, Social, Recreational and Repair Services

category I 1. Electricity Generation and Distribution Companies

category I 2. Telegraphic and Communication Services Companies and Providers

category I 3. Water Works, Distribution and Supply Companies and Providers

category I 4. Radio and Television Broadcasting Companies and Providers

(b) Insert "100,000" corresponding to the classes and categories of businesses in schedule 1 as set out in the Table, being the annual fee for each non-citizen principal or partner engaged in the business.".
