SECTION
1.
Advance of time during certain period

SUMMER TIME
To provide for summer
time.
ADVANCE
OF TIME DURING CERTAIN PERIOD
1.
(1) The time for general purposes in Vanuatu shall, during the period of summer
time be 12 hours in advance of Greenwich Mean Time;
and any reference to a
specified point of time in any enactment or any legal document (whether passed
or made before or after the
commencement of this Act) shall be construed
accordingly unless it is otherwise expressly
provided.
(2) Nothing in this
section shall affect the use of Greenwich Mean Time for purposes of astronomy,
meteorology, navigation, or other
purposes for which that time is adopted by
international usage, or the construction of any document referring to a point of
time
in connection with any of those
purposes.
For the purposes of this
section the period of summer time shall be taken to be the period beginning at
midnight local time on the
fourth Saturday in September and ending at midnight
local time on the fourth Saturday in March.
