AGRICULTURAL FEES

To establish fees and charges for services relating to agriculture and livestock.

1A. Interpretation

In this Act:

"Department" means the Department responsible for agriculture and livestock.

"officer" means:

(a) any officer of the Department; or

(b) any other individual authorised in writing by the Minister to perform the functions of an officer of the Department for the purposes of this Act.

"person" includes any statutory body, company or association or body of persons corporate or unincorporate.

1. Minister may make regulations

The Minister responsible for agriculture and livestock may by Order make regulations prescribing fees –

(a) for the following services rendered to any person by any officer –

(i) issue of import permits for quarantinable material;

(ii) issue of export phytosanitary and zoosanitary certificates;

(iii) inspection, treatment and storage of imported quarantinable material;

(iv) veterinary clinical services; and

(v) meat and animal product inspection services; and

(b) for any other service which the Minister may by Order establish.

2. Issue of receipt

All charges levied by the Minister as aforesaid shall require the issue of a receipt and shall be paid to the Treasury.

3. Payment of fee precondition to issue of certificate

No certificate shall be issued before full payment of the appropriate fee.
