IMMIGRATION (AMENDMENT) ACT 2019

AN ACT TO AMEND THE IMMIGRATION ACT 1969

Commencement [17th April, 2019]

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment) Act 2019.

2 Visitors Permit

Section 9 of the Act is amended to insert after subsection (4), a new subsection (5) to read;

"(5) The Principal Immigration Officer shall waive the entry permit requirement and issue a visitor’s permit for such period as prescribed under the agreement and Regulations."

3 Prohibited Immigrant Notice

Section 10 of the Act is amended to insert a new subsection (4) to read as:

"(4) The Principal Immigration Officer may issue a Prohibited Immigrant Notice in the manner and form prescribed by the Regulations."
