AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 2002

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. Short Title and Interpretation
   
   • (1) This Act may be cited as the Public Service (Amendment) (No.4) Act 2016.
     
   • (2) In this Act, the Public Service Act 2002, as amended, shall be referred to as the “Principal Act”.
     
2. Schedule I - Part 2 amended

The Principal Act is amended in Part 2 of Schedule I by repealing paragraphs 6 and 7.

3. Schedule II amended

The Principal Act is amended in Schedule II –

(a) by deleting paragraph 10 and replacing it with the following –

“10 Ombudsman appointed under the Ombudsman Act;”; and

(b) by inserting the following new paragraphs 20, 21 and 22 –

“20 Anti-Corruption Commissioner appointed under the Anti-Corruption Commissioner Act;

21. Employees of the Office of the Anti-Corruption Commissioner; and
    
22. Employees of the Office of the Ombudsman.”.
