PUBLIC HEALTH (AMENDMENT) ACT 2012

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT 2008

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1 Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Public Health (Amendment) Act 2012.

(2) The Public Health Act 2008, as amended, shall be referred to in this Act as the Principal Act.

2 Section 2 - Amended

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing the following terms and their definitions:

(a) "advertises";

(b) "food";

(c) "food borne diseases";

(d) "food business";

(e) "food premises";

(f) "label";

(g) "lairage";

(h) "meat";

(i) "offal";

(j) "preparations"; and

(k) "sell"

3 Part 4 - Repealed

Part 4 of the Principal Act is hereby repealed.

4 Section 249 - Amended

Section 249 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing paragraph (ee).
