AN ACT TO AMEND THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ACT TO PROVIDE FOR A NEW WAY IN WHICH THE 'EUA REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NOBLES IS ELECTED

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1 Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Legislative Assembly (Amendment) Act 2014.

(2) In this Act, the Legislative Assembly Act (Cap. 4) as amended shall be referred to as the Principal Act.

2 Section 3 amended

Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting immediately after subsection (2)(e) the following proviso –

"Provided that in the case of „Eua, the representative of the nobles shall be elected from the nobles of Tongatapu.".
