AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL THIRTY-TWO MILLION, EIGHT HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND AND FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY DOLLARS TO THE SERVICE OF THE YEAR ENDING 31ST DECEMBER 2009


ENACTED by the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.


2009 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION (No.2) ACT 2009


Short title and commencement


1. This Act may be cited as the 2009 Supplementary Appropriation (No.2) Act 2009 and commences on the date ("commencement date") of assent.


Authorisation and appropriation of $32, 836, 460


2. (1) The issue from the Consolidated Fund is hereby authorised of a sum of thirty-two million, eight hundred and thirty-six thousand and four hundred and sixty dollars to be applied to the service of the year ending 31st December 2009.


(2) The sum specified in subsection (1) shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the commencement date for supply of the heads and in the amounts respectively specified for such heads, as set out in the Schedule.


Contingencies warrants


3. The Minister may, from the commencement date until 31st December 2009 and pursuant to section 15 of the Public Finance and Audit Act (Cap. 120) –


(a) for Heads of Recurrent Expenditure, authorise under contingencies warrants such sums not exceeding five million dollars; and


(b) for Heads of Development Expenditure, authorise under contingencies warrants such sums not exceeding five million dollars.
