THE 2000 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION (NO. 2) (VARIATION OF HEADS OF EXPENDITURE) ACT 2000

Passed by the National Parliament this twelfth day of December 2000.


Assented to in Her Majesty’s name and on Her Majesty's behalf this eighteenth day of January 2001.

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHTY MILLION SIX HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SEVEN DOLLARS TO THE SERVICE OF THE YEAR ENDING 31 ST DECEMBER 2000.


ENACTED by the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.


Short Title


1. This Act may be cited as the 2000 Supplementary Appropriation (No. 2) (Variation of Heads of Expenditure) Act 2000.


Authorization of issue from the Consolidated fund $158,689,987 to the service of 2000


2. The issue from the Consolidated Fund is hereby authorized of the sum of one hundred and fifty-eight million six hundred and eighty-nine thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven dollars to be applied to the service of the year ending 31st December 2000.


Appropriation


3. The sum specified in the preceding section shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the date of passing this Act for supply of the heads specified and in the amounts respectively specified in relation thereto in the Schedule to this Act.


Sums granted under this Act to be applied to make up deficiency or expenditure.


4. All sums granted by this Act (not being further sums granted by the 2000 Appropriation Act 1999) shall be applied either in making up a deficiency or in defraying expenditure in certain departments or Ministries which are due to the variation of heads of expenditure in consequence of the reorganization of the administration of Ministries and Departments of the Government.


Contingencies Warrant


5. The total sums authorised by contingencies warrants issued by the Minister in exercise of his powers under section 15 of the Public Finance and Audit Act (Cap 120) for the financial year 2000 shall not exceed the following amounts:


(a) in respect of Heads of Recurrent Expenditure, two million dollars;


(b) in respect of Heads of Development Expenditure, two million dollars.
