AN ACT

to amend the United Nations Act 1946

1 Short title

(1) This Act may be cited as the United Nations Amendment Act 2001.

2 Section 2(1) of the principal Act amended

(1) Section 2(1) of the principal Act is repealed and substituted with the following:

"(1) If, under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations the Security Council of the United Nations calls upon the Government of New Zealand to apply any measures to give effect to any decision of that Council, the Cabinet of Ministers of Niue may from time to time make all regulations as appear to it to be necessary or expedient for enabling those measures to be effectively applied."

The Niue Assembly passed this Act on the 22nd day of November 2001.
