NAURU AIR CORPORATION (AMENDMENT) ACT 2006

REPUBLIC OF NAURU

(No. 6 of 2006)

AN ACT

To amend the Nauru Air Corporation Act and to provide for special levies to be made relating to the air services of Nauru.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

SHORT TITLE AND PRINCIPAL ACT

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Nauru Air Corporation (Amendment) Act 2006.

(2) The Nauru Air Corporation Act 1995 is referred to as the principal Act.

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 32

2. Subsection 32 (1) of the principal Act is amended by the addition of the following paragraph–

"(aa) in payment of such fees charges or levies as the Corporation may be required by Regulation to pay into the Treasury Fund;".

NEW SECTION 48

3. Following Section 47 of the principal Act, insert–

"REGULATIONS MAY IMPOSE FEES OR LEVIES

48. Cabinet may make regulations prescribing fees or levies payable by the Corporation which fees or levies may be recovered from passengers by means of additional charges on tickets sold or by an increase in the price of tickets as the Corporation may see fit.".
