Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Constitution (Appointment of Ministers) (Amendment) Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.

3 Amendment of Constitution

The Constitution is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of Article 19

19 Appointment of Ministers
Article 19 of the Constitution is amended by:

• (1) Omitting the words "four and five" where they appear in sub-clause (1) and substituting it with the words "five and six";
• (2) Omitting the word "four" where it appears in sub-clause (2) and substituting it with the word "five".
• (3) Omitting the words "four and five" where it appears in sub-clause (3) and substituting it with the words "five and six".
