Act No.3 of 2010


An Act to amend the Courts Act 1972.
Certified on 1 November 2010


Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:


  1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Courts (Amendment) Act 2010.


  1. Commencement

This Act commences on the day it receives the certificate of the Speaker under Article 47.


  1. Act amended

The Schedule amends the Courts Act 1972.

(1) The President may appoint to the Supreme Court such number of judges as he thinks fit.

5A Retirement of judges


A judge of the Supreme Court ceases to hold office on attaining the age of seventy- five years.

For Article 50(1), this section is a law prescribing a greater age.
